You're Invited To The Fashion Event Of The Summer!


Come check out the eco-outfits the teens of Orland Park came up with at the Eco-Wear Fashion Show! The winner of the eco-wear contest will be announced at this event!
Date: July 18th
Time: 4 P.M. to 5 P.M.
Where: The Youth Services Program Room



Here is the complete list of rules and guidelines that were used for the Eco-Wear Contest

  • All designs must be original
  • Must be a piece of clothing, hat or purse/school bag constructed with recycled materials
  • All entries must be received by Saturday, July 9, 2011 before 5 p.m.
  • By submitting a design, you adhere to all rules, guidelines and eligibility requirements of this contest.

Eligibility

  • This contest is open to teens entering grades 6-12 and who are signed up for the Read To Grow Summer Reading Program.
  • Any participate who does not follow the rules, guidelines or eligibility requirements of this contest, will be disqualified.

Judging:

  • All contest entries will be judged collectively according to the same judging criteria by a panel of judges selected by the Orland Park Public Library. Using the following criteria (“Judging Criteria”), judges will select one winner.
    • Originality (70%)
      Originality will be judged based on the uniqueness, inventiveness, creativity and original thought of the item of clothing, hat or purse/school bag.
    • Workmanship (30%)
      Workmanship will be judged based on the quality, neatness and attention to detail given in creating the item of clothing, hat or purse/school bag.
