The CW has picked up the pilot for one of Smith's other series. The show will be based off of the Secret Circle series, and will revolve around witches.

In other Vampire Diaries news...
The books will no longer be written by L.J. Smith, who has been writing the series since the 90's. The series will continue but will be written by other authors.
